„We wish to involve the residents of Győr into the work at larger scale in order to reflect the diversity typical to our city in our tender.” – mentioned Domanyik Eszter, the department head of City Marketing and Program Organization Directorate of the City Hall.
She announced the launch of logo-, and slogan calls, for which creative ideas are welcome in order to find the right direction together for the tender of Győr. The call is going to be announced this week on Thursday at the website of gyor.hu where all the relevant details can be found by those who are interested. The department head also mentioned that a poll was going to be launched in the forthcoming days, which would involve a sample including 1500 people. The questions, for which responses would be expected, cover a versatile palette; the residents can express their opinion not only about the existing cultural programs and features of Győr, but new ideas are expected to reform the cultural life of the city in the future.
As we learnt Széchenyi István University would draw the conclusion deriving from the previous calls to facilitate the preparatory work; the institutions of Győr would assign the cornerstones and the directions for development required by them – and as we have already mentioned – the feedback from the residents would compose a highlighted pillar of the elaborated material. After collecting all the relevant details, the tender is going to be compiled during the summer and the completed material can be handed over to General Assembly of Győr at the end of the autumn, as the tender must be submitted in December this year. Győr can expect a fierce competition, as several– in cultural aspects important – cities have declared their interests as regards the application, besides these – without restrictions – we can find such cities like Eger, Debrecen, Veszprém, Miskolc, Tokaj and Gödöllő.
„Apart from the number of competitors, if I consider the issue with a professional point of view I do believe that Győr has a realistic chance, as it has an unbelievably rich, versatile and high standard cultural life, that brings further opportunities. The residents of Győr, the local cultural institutions and the city may have significant benefits from this program.” – said Forgács Péter, theatre director – who contributes to the work of the commission – while pondering about the chances.
