European Capital of Culture: the cultural experts of the Danube region joined the flow in Győr…
The participants of the international conference supported by the Danube Strategic Project Fund (DSPF) held the first day of the 2-day-long international symposium called ‘The Bridge Project’ in Budapest, while the second day for the invitation of the city in Győr. The program allies the river-connected events of the different countries along the Danube, as well as their cultural and touristic experts within a long-term cooperation network. Győr joined this international flow and formed partnerships to the preparation and implementation of its European Capital of Culture Program with the cultural experts of the cities Krems, Graz, Vienna, Osijek, Novi Sad and Ruse.
On the day of the conference in Győr organised by the Pro Progressione and the Karzat Theatre the participants were mainly talking about the program-elements of the bid of the city and the preparation of the cooperation connected to it.
The symposium was opened by the presentation of Dr. Dávid Fekete deputy mayor, who introduced the ‘Flow’ program of the Győr2023 bid, the conception and the program-elements of the bid. After that Mr. Máté Chappon, the representative of the Terasz Group (a company that is actively engaged in the creative utilization of rivers) was talking about the dipping basin project implemented in Győr, giving a local inspiration to the afternoon roundtable discussion.
As the closing program of the morning session Mr. Barna Petrányi, the leading expert of the Danube-connected programs of the bid of Győr held a keynote project-presentation about the programs connected to the bid.
After the afternoon session the invited experts could get to know the flow surrounding us on the rivers that confluence in Győr, in the frames of a boat trip.
The program was closed in the evening by the surprise dinner of the creative young staff of the Rómer House, where the foreign guests could get to know the hosts personally.
